Invicta Financial Resources
With close to 30 years spent working in the City, the majority within the regulatory world across several major banks, I’ve built a career grounded in deep industry knowledge and hands-on experience.
I began in regulatory reporting, focusing on Bank of England returns and large exposures, before qualifying as an accountant. For the past two decades, I’ve worked as a contractor specialising in regulatory change, giving me a broad and nuanced understanding of how financial institutions operate and evolve.
More recently, I stepped back to take a sabbatical, a chance to recharge and reflect. It was during that time I realised I wasn’t ready to simply return to the same environment. Instead, I wanted to do something different: something that made better use of the experience and insight I’d accumulated over 25 years.
That realisation was sharpened by my own job search. Using LinkedIn and engaging with recruiters, I found myself being put forward for roles that were either a poor fit for my skills, outside my interests, or simply not the right match for either party. It became clear that a significant gap exists between candidate experience and recruiter understanding, and that both sides were losing valuable time as a result.
